We must understand the sound as an energy which can move trough the air, transported by particles.
There is a periodic fluctuation at the density of this particles that are moving.
So the only place were we can’t have sound waves is the real emptiness.
Were there is not particle which could transport these waves: And the biggest emptiness is the space.
